The activities that guests and visitors to the Pousada Literária participate in and benefit from are aimed at promoting low impact tourism and providing experiences of true connection with the Atlantic Forest biome and the city of Paraty. The pousada’s activities are fully integrated with the area in all aspects. There is also a commitment to ensure that the services offered on the premises of the Literária stimulate the economy of the city, through the purchase of local supplies and handicrafts, strengthening the community and culture of the region.

Pousada Literária has a Sustainability Management System that monitors the achievement of its goals through targets and performance indicators. This ongoing process makes it possible to evaluate results, identify opportunities for improvement and guide actions toward a more efficient use of natural resources, such as water, energy and supplies. The selection of suppliers considers the environmental and social practices of each partner and prioritizes, whenever possible, partnerships with local producers. In addition, part of the ingredients used in the inn’s kitchens is produced on farms belonging to the same group as Pousada Literária, located in Paraty (RJ) and Cunha (SP).
The Pousada Literária is committed to ensuring access for a wide range of people, allowing people of different ages and with different needs to enjoy the facilities of the pousada on an equal footing. We currently have 2 rooms that cater for people with visual, hearing, locomotor, dwarfism and/or autism disabilities, as well as a parking space for People with Disabilities, access ramps to the pool, breakfast, bar and spa areas, tactile flooring on stairs and uneven surfaces, handrails and an accessible social bathroom.
